Ayşegül, Sevinç, Gülay and Galip grew alongside the creation of Gökçe Gemile. Ömer has been part of the journey for sixteen years, carrying its rhythm, warmth and continuity forward. They speak of their work simply - working as one, helping as one, growing together. Roles exist, yet boundaries rarely do.
In the kitchen, as Seher shapes the day’s flavours, Malik or Sevinç may be found beside her - tasting, preparing, perfecting. Care here is never assigned; it is shared. Galip, together with Ayşegül and Halil, describes the essence best: the quiet joy of seeing guests feel at home, of watching them slow down, breathe, and savour what has been prepared with intention.

Gökçe Gemile itself did not begin as a structure. It began as a vision - a quiet, unwavering dream held by Malik Şahin for many years. Stone and wood travelled across Turkey to find their place here: reclaimed beams from the Black Sea, hand-carved stone from Anatolian landscapes, traditional plaster techniques revived, iron shaped by hand - all coming together as an act not of construction, but of devotion.
The peninsula became a canvas. Nature provided the palette. Craftsmanship gave it form. The journey took years; the dream, even longer. In 2018, the doors opened quietly - offering not a retreat, but a sanctuary shaped by faith, intuition and resilience.
