The Estate

The Estate

Cradled between forested slopes and the untouched turquoise sea, Gökçe Gemile is not merely a retreat—it is a hidden world of its own. Like a forgotten island adrift in time, it shelters three soulfully designed villas within a wild coastal sanctuary. Here, silence speaks, the sea glimmers with secrets, and every path leads to something unexpected.

Cradled between forested hills and the shimmering blue where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean, Gökçe Gemile is not simply a destination—it is a secluded coastal world of its own. Set on a hidden peninsula veiled by pine forests, the estate offers the rarest of luxuries: absolute privacy, and the whispering presence of untouched nature.

Spanning over 40,000 square meters, this estate feels like a forgotten island, scattered with ancient olive trees, wild herbs, and secret trails. The private bay—completely out of reach for daily tour boats due to its unique geographical formation—is home to dozens of tiny beaches, rock-framed coves, sandbanks, and sea caves, all reserved exclusively for guests. A private funicular glides silently through the canopy, linking each villa to their own discreet waterfront retreat.

Though entirely secluded, Gökçe Gemile is not isolated. Just five minutes away lies the historic ghost town of Kayaköy, with its village market and artisanal produce. A 15-minute drive takes you to the famed beaches of Ölüdeniz or to the vibrant harbor town of Fethiye.

With only three architecturally distinctive villas on the property—each with its own private dining pergola, beach area, and villa-specific chef—every experience here is tailor-made. Whether it’s a breakfast by the sea, a sunset barbecue, or a moonlit swim, life at Gökçe Gemile unfolds in perfect privacy, guided by the rhythms of wind, waves, and birdsong.

Adding to its enchantment is its extraordinary biodiversity. Mediterranean monk seals are known to glide silently into the sea caves of the estate’s private bay. Sea turtles (Caretta caretta) are frequently sighted in the turquoise waters, while dolphins often dance across the waves. On land, wild goats, birds of prey, and hundreds of endemic plant species thrive in complete harmony, making every walk a moment of quiet discovery. For divers and marine lovers, the underwater life is just as dazzling.

This is not a resort. This is a sanctuary.

Step inside Gökçe Gemile and you enter not just a house, but a living story carved in stone, timber, and silence. Within this secluded coastal sanctuary, three soulfully crafted villas each unfold their own interior tale—distinct in style, yet united by a reverence for nature, tradition, and harmony.

Gökçe Villa gazes over the full arc of Gökçe Cove with panoramic sea views from nearly every room. Its interiors marry contemporary comfort with rugged natural textures—volcanic stone floors, vaulted beamed ceilings, and a cedar-framed hearth at its heart.

Gemile Villa, named for the shimmering beach and the island of St. Nicholas it overlooks, blends the quiet nobility of Levissi’s vanished homes with striking artisanal details. The floating staircase, carved fireplaces, and chapel-like ceilings evoke a sense of mystery and grace.

Elmalı Villa feels like a forgotten fairytale cottage, reimagined. Its roots lie in the highland village of Elmalı, and its character in the heritage of stonemasons whose hands shaped its walls. Inside, warm tones, handcrafted beams, and mosaic floors echo Ottoman artistry with a timeless serenity.

Though each villa tells its own story, they share a devotion to authenticity and handcrafted beauty. Across them, you’ll find sculptural basins carved from river boulders, stone fireplaces, soaring ceilings, and natural fabrics—woven not just to please the eye, but to ground the soul. These are homes that speak, softly but clearly, of the land from which they came.

Note: For more detailed information on the interior design and unique features of each villa, please visit their individual villa pages.

At Gökçe Gemile, nature is not merely a backdrop—it is the silent architect of the estate. Across more than 20,000 square meters of private land surrounded by forest, the three villas rise like ancient sentinels, each nestled into its own hidden clearing, each shaped by the landscape it calls home.

Every path, every wall, every step has been considered with a sculptor’s eye and a gardener’s heart. No tree was cut without reason; many were embraced within the design. Stone-paved walkways, some inlaid with mosaics of river pebbles, wind gently through wild sage and lavender. Garden terraces bloom with hydrangeas, roses, and Mediterranean herbs, each corner offering a new angle of silence and sea.

Gökçe Villa stands like the prow of a ship, with its bold form and vast terraces overlooking the sea. It offers the largest garden of all—nearly 2400 m²—where a sprawling lake-style pool glimmers in the sun, and a centuries-old carob tree rises through the living room itself. Its pool house, carved discreetly into the landscape, provides a hidden haven of privacy and comfort.

Gemile Villa, by contrast, takes its cues from history. With stonework that echoes the old Greek houses of Kayaköy and pebble mosaics drawn from ancient patterns, it rests close to the cliff’s edge, watching over the sea like a monastery. A shaded outdoor lounge, Jacuzzi corner carved into a rock, and its guesthouse nestled behind oleander and bougainvillea all lend it a sacred stillness.

Elmalı Villa is the woodland dream. Surrounded by dense pine forest, its fairy-tale charm comes alive in every handcrafted stone and timber. A stone-walled terrace wraps around the house, leading to a natural-stone pool that appears to rise from the earth itself. Its elevated location gives it secret views over Gökçe Bay and a sense of storybook solitude.

All three villas are connected not by roads, but by soft forest paths and one shared thread of philosophy: to belong, not to dominate.

The estate’s private funicular descends through the trees to the beach club and the secluded coves below—untouched by tourism, unshared by strangers. Guests can swim in saltwater pools tiled with hand-set pebbles, bathe in granite-carved Jacuzzis, or rest in hammocks strung between ancient trunks. At Gökçe Gemile, the outdoors is not simply beautiful. It is alive. And it welcomes you.

Smoking policy

As in the rest of the Mediterranean, fire is an ever present risk, especially during the tinder-dry summer months. For this reason we need to have a very strict smoking policy. As with all rental properties, there is a no smoking policy inside the houses. Guests may smoke in the gardens, but we respectfully request that they always use an ashtray and dispose of their cigarette butts responsibly. Guests may also smoke on the beach and in the private coves, always taking other guests, who may not smoke, into consideration. However, there is a very strict no smoking policy on the inclined lift and the surrounding area, leading to the beach. Here, we must insist that there is no smoking whatsoever due to the risk of fire and the fact that it is highly illegal!
